MISSION
STATEMENT
Our
Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School exists to fulfill
the educational ministry of the Catholic Church and to
provide an all encompassing-spiritual, academic, cultural,
and physical-quality elementary education for the Southern
Brazoria County area. PHILOSOPHY
We
at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC SCHOOL, believe that
every facet of life is important - spiritual, physical,
intellectual, social and emotional. We believe that every
child is unique and valuable because his/her life comes
from God. We believe one of the purposes of life is to
improve the quality of life for all persons everywhere.
We believe if we have helped a child to know, love and
serve God, to become more humane, more hopeful, more compassionate
towards his fellowman, more able to believe in the ultimate
value of life- then we have prepared him for this world
and the next. We believe every teacher should utilize
a variety of learning methods to benefit individual needs
and to prepare students for further education and the
successful achievement of personal goals. We believe OUR
LADY QUEEN OF PEACE, guided by the Holy Catholic Church
in union with the Pope, should stand as a visible sign
of faith, loyalty, and commitment to Christian education,
always striving for academic excellence.
HISTORY
What
a miraculous day September 2, 1986 was. Our Lady Queen
of Peace Catholic School opened its doors for the first
time. Sister had prayed for sixty students that first
year, and her prayers were answered, as she finished the
year with 67 children. With steady yearly increases, we
now have a student enrollment of 336. Our Lady Queen of
Peace has children from the eight surrounding parishes,
and 32% of our children are non-Catholic. We believe this
is a true testament to the wonderful educational and religious
foundations the students receive at OLQP. |

Sister
Mary Antoinette Peltier
"The
faith of the parents registering their children that
first year was admirable. They came to a room containing
only a desk, a telephone, a three-hole-punch, and some
cardboard boxes, and there they entrusted the lives
of their children to an unknown educational future." |
